The original reality television show Big Brother is set to return to British screens next year. The show, which was first broadcast on Channel 4 back in 2000 before moving to Channel 5 in 2011, will be broadcast on ITV2 and ITV's new streaming service, ITVX, at the beginning of next year. The iconic show ended its run in 2018 with the broadcast of its last season.
There are several strangers living under one roof and undertaking tasks together. The contestants are voted out until the viewers at home determine the winner. In an interview with ITV2, ITVBe, and CITV, Paul Mortimer said the new season is a refreshing, modern one.
Big Brother's contemporary new series will feature all the familiar format points that kept viewers engaged and entertained originally, but with a fresh look and additional twists that speak to today's viewers.ITV2 and ITVX are going to be the perfect platforms for this icon to reach our younger viewers, and that is what excites us about bringing this series to them".
