There are still a lot of summers left, but Married to Medicine is already teasing that the holiday drama is just around the corner. For season nine of Bravo's series, the mid-season trailer promises plenty of jaw-dropping moments for the show's medical friends, including Dr. Jacqueline Walters, Dr. Simone Whitmore, Dr. Heavenly Kimes, Dr. Contessa Metcalfe, Quad Webb, Toya Bush-Harris, Anila Sajja, and Audra Frimpong, all of whom have appeared on the show in the past few years.
To get things started, the group is going on a "relationship resuscitation retreat" in the woods with their spouses for a few days. The situation isn't quite the same back home in Atlanta, however, as Anila and her husband, Dr. Kiran Sajja, discover their home has been robbed, and they believe Toya must have played some part in it.
There was someone watching us," Kiran says in the trailer, and Anila adds, "That's the scariest part." But perhaps one of the most emotional stories of the season has to do with the events leading up to Heavenly's mother's death at the beginning of this season. Heavenly's mother passed away at the beginning of the season. "As a girlfriend group, we are here for you as well," Jacqueline tells Heavenly in the teaser.
As part of her support for the Heavenly, Contessa led a group of celebrities in prayer for her, and said, "In the name of Jesus, we ask your protection to be wrapped around Heavenly's mom." As much as these women support one another, they also find ways to create just as much drama, as the trailer is teased to show an explosive fight between Toya and Audra at the group's Christmas party at the end of the trailer.
As Contessa puts it at the end of the trailer, they are a close-knit group of friends. In a confessional, she admits that she loves her group of friends so much that we can have such an amazing fun night singing 'I hate your guts,'" she says. "This is like the worst family reunion ever!"
