Tracey Dowse, Denise Dowse's sister, states that Denise Dowse remains hospitalized in a coma following a bout with meningitis. Tracey wrote in a Facebook post dated August 5 that she requested support and prayers for herself and her sister, as well as my only immediate family member, Denise Dowse.

It has been reported that she is currently in a coma due to a severe case of meningitis. Due to the fact that the coma was not medically induced, her doctors do not know when she will emerge from it. A statement from Dowse on Tuesday confirmed that her sister is still in a coma.

The written statement continues with Tracey's remarks that her sister is an accomplished actor and director who is poised for a bright future, adding that  “thoughts, prayers, and support are greatly appreciated.”As Vice Principal Yvonne Teasley on Beverly Hills, 90210, Dowse has a long history of television credits. In later years, she would play another Vice Principal, but this time in the sitcom California Dreams as a recurring character.

There have been guest appearances on sitcoms such as Seinfield, Full House, Murphy Brown, Step by Step, Sister, Sister, Moesha, Girlfriends, and most recently, a recurring role on Insecure where she plays Dr. Rhonda Pine.
