Kim Zolciak-Biermann, former star of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," has spoken out about her daughter's arrest for DUI over the weekend. At the intersection of Peachtree Parkway and Highway 400, police responded to reports of an accident early Saturday morning.

Mercedes G-Wagon struck a Ford Focus, police said. During the conversation with the driver of the Mercedes, identified as Ariana Biermann, the officer noted a slight odor of alcohol on her breath. Biermann denied drinking and stated that she was only 20 on the arrest report.

Although she admitted to smoking THC vape pens the night before, she denied using them. During a field sobriety test, the officer observed Biermann's "clear signs of impairment" and "a noticeable sway."A Breathalyzer test was refused by Biermann, who was arrested for driving under the influence.

The officer found a black vape pen that smelled like marijuana in Biermann's purse after searching her vehicle. Kim Zolciak-Biermann posted a statement on Tuesday to her Instagram stories claiming the crash was "minor" and the police "erred in their assumption" that her daughter was impaired."She admitted to consuming marijuana the day before, meaning over 24 hours before she was contacted by police," Zolciak-Biermann said.

Defending herself against these charges, she insists she is innocent and plans to fight them. The arresting officer charged Biermann with DUI, improper/erratic lane change, and underage consumption of alcohol. In a minor fender bender, Aria was involved. Following police arrival, the investigating officer immediately initiated an alcohol DUI investigation."Despite Ariana's constant assertions, that she was upset and anxious after the minor accident, the officer mistakenly concluded she was impaired.

No, that wasn't the case.“Ariana was not impaired by any substance, alcohol, or marijuana, and we do not wish to litigate this case further in the media.“Being cooperative and honest, she admitted to consuming marijuana the day before, meaning over 24 hours before her contact with law enforcement.“In addition, the arresting officer charged Ariana with alcohol impairment based on his own police report. Her entire denial of these allegations and her intention to fight these charges is unequivocal. The general public, therefore, appreciated the fact that this case was tried on its merits rather than based on rhetoric or incorrect conclusions.
