On August 4th, the hit soap opera Days of Our Lives announced that it will be leaving NBC after 57 years and will move to the Peacock streaming service starting on September 12.

Daytime will premiere all-new episodes of Days of Our Lives every day on Peacock, which will also be hosting all past episodes of the show as well as its spinoff Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem, which will premiere on the same network.

NBC News Daily, a new, hour-long news program scheduled to start airing on the network in the fall, will take over Days' time slot. As part of the anchor team, Kate Snow, Aaron Gilchrist, Vicky Nguyen, and Morgan Radford will be taking part. Peacock News and NBC News NOW will stream the show simultaneously, as well as NBC News NOW.

"NBC Universal's strategy of maximizing reach and strengthening engagement with viewers is reflected in this programming shift that benefits both Peacock and NBC," said Mark Lazarus, chairman of NBC Universal television and streaming.

"We recognize that a large portion of Days of Our Lives audience already watches the show digitally, so we believe that this move will enable us to grow Days of Our Lives loyal fan base on streaming while simultaneously bolstering the network's daytime offering with a live programming opportunity that is urgent for partners and consumers."

Among the cast members are Brandon Barash, Tamara Braun, Deidre Hall, Jackee Harry, James Reynolds, Josh Taylor, and Greg Vaughan.
