OTT - Aug 23, 2022
As part of a trio of shows set in the Chicago universe, both shows will air on NBC and are part of NBC's Chicago universe series. A group of doctors, nurses, and firefighters are followed as they face the daily struggles they face in their careers.
The Netflix business unit announced on September 1st of 2021 that Chicago Med and Chicago Fire would be available in 14 regions. Chicago Med and Chicago Fire seasons 1-4 have been acquired by the network, as well as seasons 1-4 of Chicago Med. There is a possibility that they will depart the service after a year since they are only licensed for a single year at a time. The two shows mentioned above will be leaving Netflix on September 1st, 2022.
However, you'll be able to see a "last day to watch" message, within the Netflix application, on September 1st, 2022. The notice states that the show will be expiring on August 31st, 2022, however, that only refers to the last full day for viewers to catch up with the show.
Depending on which region it is leaving from, it will depart at midnight on the 1st of September in that region. The move could've been predicted given that Netflix in the United States had recently lost the television show Chicago Med after only one year on the platform, so this may have been a preventable move. As opposed to Netflix internationally, Chicago Fire was not licensed for the U.S. viewing in the country.
