With the 22nd season of NBC's The Voice returning to air this fall, the show will continue to feature singing competitions. The series is returning with several familiar faces returning to the legendary red coaches' chairs, along with a new face joining the coaching team on the series for the first time.
Several Voice alumni are returning to the show, including country music superstar Blake Shelton and All Of Me singer John Legend, who previously competed on the show. There have been several seasons of the series in which both Shelton and Legend have been regulars. Despite being a mainstay on the popular program since its premiere in 2011, Blake Shelton has proved to be one of its most memorable contestants.
In the upcoming season of The Voice, Blake Shelton and John Legend will be joined by pop music legend Gwen Stafani, Shelton's wife. It is no secret that Gwen Stefani has participated in The Voice before. The red chair has been occupied by this coaching alum for numerous seasons. In addition to the popular series' third coach, there is a new coach for the series. The coaching lineup has at least one new member.
When The Voice's newest season premieres this fall, fans will see Havana singer Camila Cabello join the coaching lineup. Music competition shows are nothing new to the music star. The X-Factor was Cabello's competition series in 2012. Five Harmony consists of her and four other singers. There was no win for the group that year. With songs like Worth It and Work From Home, the singers were able to find impressive success.
The singer became a huge success in 2018 when she released her first album, Camila. Cabello quickly became a household name after songs such as Never Be The Same and Havana topped the charts. In honor of the show's newest coach, Ariana Grande, the most recent season of The Voice has come to a close. NBC will also be losing longtime judge Kelly Clarkson to the show.
However, while we were still reeling from Clarkson and Grande's departures, Blake Shelton's wife Gwen Stefani, and John Legend announced that they will be returning for season 22 in the fall. It wasn't until a little while later that Cabello's addition was announced. Though NBC has already had a few guest appearances from the singer, it's a perfect addition.
According to John Legend, Camila Cabello was a celebrity guest mentor on Team Legend. According to Legend, Cabello did a great job in her team role. Legend recalls that he told her, "If a Coach position ever becomes available, you should consider it."
