Phyllis decides to put an end to Nikki's plans and comes up with a brand new plan for the week of August 1 - 5 on Young & Restless. According to the latest Young and Restless spoilers, Nate and Devon will have a significant power struggle shortly, which could pose a problem for Chancellor-Winters.
The next week, Nate lashes out at Devon and tells him he's not an intern and doesn't need adult supervision in the same manner as a kid who just graduated from high school. When Amanda entered, she asked if everything was okay and if anything needed to be done.
Nikki and Phyllis continued to commiserate over how Diane was gaining a lot of followers since returning to Genoa City and how she seemed to be winning people over left and right. Nikki tells Ashley that while Diane was still living in Los Angelos, they were unable to dig up any dirt about her during the time she was there, which is a preview of what's to come in the next episode.
Phyllis explains that they have realized they must come up with some dirt on her here in Genoa City to make a case against her. The Newman siblings were stunned to later discover Ashland's body had been taken from them after Nick and Ashland had engaged in a physical altercation at Victoria's, which appear to have left Ashland dead after being pushed and hit by a firebox.
There was a belief that Ashland got up and walked away from the scene. Victor thanked Michael for the outstanding job he did in cleaning up the mess left by Ashland's car, which had been driven into a ravine after Ashland was later discovered dead in the car.
There is a possibility that the clean-up was not as thorough as it should have been. Kevin gives a sneak preview of what's to come when he asks Chance what he missed while he was away. Locke's death might prove to be more complicated than they thought when Chase explains the circumstances surrounding it.
