In its 14th season, the ABC series will feature the actor and founder of Goop as a guest shark. Shakespeare in Love star makes her first appearance on the business program. Tony Xu, CEO of DoorDash and co-founder of the company, will join long-standing Sharks Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John, and Kevin O'Leary as guests.
Several guest sharks return to the show this season, including Emma Grede, CEO and co-founder of Good American, Peter Jones, a dragon on the BBC's version, Dragon's Den, Daniel Lubetzky, founder of Kind, and Kendra Scott. In 2008, Paltrow founded the lifestyle brand Goop and became its CEO in 2016. Her films include Emma and Sliding Doors.
As well as a Netflix show, a book imprint, retail stores, skincare and fragrance lines, and its health summit, the company has its show on Netflix. She also starred in Planet of the Apps in 2017, an Apple show that focused on Silicon Valley-type startups in a Shark Tank-like format. Netflix's The Politician was her last on-screen role.
Production of the show is handled by MGM Television and Sony Pictures Television. A Japanese format created by Nippon Television Network Corporation is the basis for the show, which is executive produced by Mark Burnett, Clay Newbill, Yun Lingner, Max Swedlow and Phil Gurin, Brandon Wallace, Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John and Kevin O'Leary.
