An Days of Our Lives alum joins Law and Order

Days of Our Lives alum Molly Burnett joins Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as a detective on the Dick Wolf crime drama. In the NBC series' upcoming 24th season, Burnett will play Detective Grace Muncy in a recurring role. According to TV Line, Muncy is "smart, blunt, and attractive," has experience working with gangs, and is very good at her job.

Burnett is also known for her role as Kelly Ann on USA's Queen of the South, as well as her role as Melanie Jonas on Days of Our Lives. Additionally, she has appeared in True Blood, General Hospital, CSI: New York, and Major Crimes. Recently, she appeared in an episode of fellow Dick Wolf procedural Chicago P.D.

Burnett joins the long-running series ahead of a crossover event involving Law & Order, SVU, and Organized Crime. "Scheduling issues could delay it further into fall," according to TV Line, but the special is being eyed for the September 22 season premiere.

In February 2020, SVU was renewed for a 24th season. This season marked the show's 500th episode, which premiered on September 23, 2021. With Warren Leight stepping down as executive producer, co-creator David Graziano will take over as showrunner for Season 24.
